01 · PDU sourcing

What to include in a rack PDU RFQ

A useful PDU inquiry describes the installation and electrical architecture before asking for a final model or price.

  • Rack size, horizontal or vertical orientation, mounting points and available space
  • Input plug or terminal, cable entry direction and required cable length
  • Outlet family, count, spacing, voltage, current, phase and load expectation
  • Breaker, surge, switching, indication and branch requirements
  • Local metering, network monitoring or remote control requirements where needed
  • Target market, order quantity, required documents, branding and delivery timing

02 · OEM / ODM

Freeze the variables before approving a sample

A sample is useful only when the buyer and factory agree which decisions it represents and which details are still open.

  • Separate appearance approval from electrical and functional approval
  • Record the exact plug, socket, cable, component and material requirements
  • Confirm logo, label, manual, unit pack and carton scope together
  • List the model-level certificate or report needed for the target market
  • Keep an approved sample, specification and open-issue list under one revision
  • Release production only after commercial and technical baselines agree

03 · Quality evidence

Match every certificate to the quoted model

A certificate image is not proof for every product that looks similar. The model, rating, standard and report scope must align.

  • Compare the quoted model number with the model list in the document
  • Check the standard, issue date, issuing body and report reference
  • Confirm that ratings and construction match the planned configuration
  • Treat optional functions as separate evidence questions where they change scope
  • Request readable source documents rather than relying on a small badge
  • Keep the final claim wording no broader than the verified evidence
